Sandy is a widow and devoted mother of an adult daughter with special needs. On April 14, 2012, an F-2 tornado destroyed her home and much of her community, leaving her with little more than the clothes on her back and a few family photos salvaged from the wreckage. Her life story is one that includes humble beginnings, unimaginable heartbreak, and selfless service to those around her.
